2008 | FIRST PRIZE > COMPETITION FOR A “30” ZONE IN VIA ROMA IN BASIANO AND IN VIA MILANO IN MASATE

photos

The opportunity, re-designing a roed about 800 meters long, to redefine new symbolic and material community relations between two small municipalities in Milan province, that joined durino the real estate development years without a comprehensive urban drawing, is the fundamental theme of the project, winner of the competition.
Three intervention scales: (i) define a road hierarchy in order to create a totally coherent “30 zone” which keeps in safety weak users, especially cyclists and pedestrians, between the two municipality’s public functions (town halls, schools, etc.); (ii) the interaction between urban space drawing inside the town and the surrounding landscape, integrating Rio Vallone park inside the town; (iii) refurbish the most important places of the two towns, coherently with the comprehensive urban strategy.
